Job summary
Sodexo is seeking a qualified Commercial Gas & Heating Engineer to join the Facilities Management team at HMP Northumberland. This is a hands-on role delivering gas safety inspections, servicing and repairs across the prison estate.
The role requires Gas Safe registration, a recognised apprenticeship, and strong knowledge of safety legislation. You will work independently and as part of a team, participate in the on-call rota and uphold health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Gas Safe Registered Engineer status required and ACS/COCN1/CDGA1/ICPN1 qualifications preferred.
- Experience with commercial gas-fired heating, hot water and ventilation systems.
- Strong knowledge of gas safety legislation and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Carry out gas safety inspections, testing, servicing and maintenance.
- Complete CP15/CP17 inspections and certification.
- Diagnose faults and repair commercial gas systems in a secure environment.
- Read technical drawings and manufacturer instructions.
- Undertake planned preventive and reactive maintenance.
- Maintain accurate gas safety records and documentation.
- Escort contractors and participate in out-of-hours on-call rota.
- Adhere to Health & Safety, Gas Safe regulations and Sodexo policies.
