We are working with a highly reputable, growing and forward-thinking facilities management contractor providing building maintenance services to commercial clients across the UK.
Due to continued expansion, they are looking to recruit an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join their mobile engineering team, covering a varied portfolio of commercial properties across Scotland's Central Belt.
The role will cover Glasgow, Edinburgh and surrounding areas, with candidates ideally based anywhere between the two cities.
This is a varied, multi-skilled role combining commercial gas servicing and maintenance with general facilities maintenance duties, including basic plumbing, fire alarm testing, water temperature checks and emergency lighting inspections.
It would suit a hands-on Commercial Gas Engineer who is comfortable taking responsibility for a broad range of maintenance tasks rather than focusing exclusively on gas equipment.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Service, maintain and fault-find on commercial and domestic boilers, water heaters, pipework and associated controls.

- Carry out general plumbing maintenance, including minor repairs to pipework, taps, toilets and associated equipment.
- Complete weekly fire alarm testing across client sites.
- Carry out water temperature monitoring and associated compliance checks.
- Complete emergency lighting checks and routine functional testing.
- Support general building maintenance and minor FM repairs where required.
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
- Identify additional repairs, advise on replacement requirements and support quotations where necessary.
- Support air conditioning maintenance where appropriately qualified and experienced.
- Liaise with clients, site teams and internal colleagues to ensure works are completed effectively.
- Complete job reports, maintenance records and compliance documentation accurately.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with current regulations.
- Participate in the out-of-hours callout rota.
The Person
The successful candidate will:
- Hold relevant Commercial Gas ACS qualifications, including COCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, ICPN1, TPCP1A, TPCP1 or accepted equivalents/changeover qualifications, as applicable.
- Hold relevant domestic gas qualifications, such as CCN1, where required for the equipment being serviced.
- Have strong experience servicing, maintaining and fault-finding on commercial gas appliances and heating systems.
- Be comfortable carrying out general FM maintenance duties alongside commercial gas works.
- Have practical plumbing experience, including minor repairs and maintenance.
- Ideally have experience with fire alarm weekly testing, water temperature monitoring and emergency lighting checks.
- Have a good understanding of commercial gas safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Have strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Be confident working independently across commercial properties.
- Have good communication and IT/reporting skills.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- Be comfortable travelling across Glasgow, Edinburgh and the wider Central Belt.
- Air conditioning experience and relevant F-Gas qualifications would be advantageous.
