Fletchers Engineering is seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer / Commercial Plumbing Engineer to service and repair gas and plumbing systems across commercial sites in Huddersfield. The role requires independent working, fault-finding, and high-standard installations.

You will handle reactive maintenance, preventative checks, and ensure compliance with Water Regulations and safety standards. A valid UK driving licence is essential, with opportunities for training and development within

Qualificações

• Experience as Commercial Gas Engineer / Plumber in commercial settings
• Ability to fault-find and diagnose gas/plumbing failures
• Knowledge of water regulations and safety procedures

Responsabilidades

• Respond to reactive maintenance gas and plumbing service calls
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on commercial systems
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs to water services, pipework and fittings
• Install and replace commercial plumbing systems and components
• Conduct water hygiene checks and temperature monitoring

Commercial Gas Engineer / Commercial Plumbing Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Plumber to join a growing building services company carrying out a varied range of gas, plumbing and heating works across commercial and domestic properties in Huddersfield

This is a hands‑on role suited to a Commercial Gas Engineer / Commercial Plumbing Engineer who is confident working independently, investigating faults and completing repairs and installations to a high standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Respond to reactive maintenance gas and plumbing service calls
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on commercial plumbing and mechanical systems.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs to water services, pipework, sanitary ware, drainage systems and associated plant.
• Install and replace commercial plumbing systems and components.
• Carry out repairs to hot and cold‑water systems, booster sets, expansion vessels, thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs), pumps and associated equipment.
• Conduct water hygiene tasks, including temperature monitoring and remedial works where required.
• Complete service reports, job sheets and compliance documentation accurately and on time.
• Liaise professionally with customers and provide technical advice where required.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Health & Safety legislation, company procedures and risk assessments.
• Support other mechanical maintenance activities where appropriate.
• Participate in the call‑out rota as required.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools and equipment in a safe and professional condition.
• Represent Fletchers Engineering professionally at all times.

The Commercial Gas Engineer / Commercial Plumbing Engineer will be expected to manage their workload effectively and take responsibility for completing works safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

We are looking for a Commercial Gas Engineer / Commercial Plumbing Engineer with:

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent).
• Commercial Gas qualifications
• Proven experience working as a Commercial Gas Engineer / Commercial Plumber.
• Experience in installing, maintaining and repairing commercial plumbing systems.
• Competent in fault‑finding and diagnosing gas and plumbing system failures.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of current Water Regulations.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

• Unvented Hot Water Certificate (G3).
• Water Hygiene / Legionella Awareness qualifications.
• Basic electrical fault‑finding knowledge.
• Commercial heating system experience.
• Experience working within Facilities Management or maintenance contracts.
• IPAF, PASMA or CSCS certification.
• Mechanical plant room experience.

The position would particularly suit a Commercial Gas Engineer / Commercial Plumbing Engineer with a strong maintenance and repair background who is comfortable working across a variety of properties and environments.
