Job summary

Pure Talent Group is seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer in Sheffield to carry out planned servicing, maintenance and reactive repairs on commercial gas appliances and heating systems. The role requires ACS gas qualifications, solid boiler and burner experience, and the ability to work independently with a driving licence.

You will join an on-call rota and contribute to safety and compliance across sites.

Qualifications

• Current commercial ACS gas qualifications covering the appliances and activities relevant to the role.
• Proven experience servicing and repairing commercial boilers and burners.
• Strong understanding of commercial gas safety, combustion and boiler control sequences.
• Practical fault-finding experience across gas, electrical controls and associated heating components.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and manufacturers' technical documentation.
• A full UK driving licence and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair commercial gas-fired boilers, burners and heating plant.
• Diagnose faults involving ignition systems, flame detection, gas valves, burner controls and safety interlocks.
• Carry out combustion analysis, investigate poor combustion and adjust appliances within manufacturers' specifications.
• Undertake gas tightness testing, purging and commissioning within the scope of your qualifications.
• Diagnose heating system faults involving pumps, motorised valves, pressurisation units, expansion vessels and associated controls.
• Identify defects, make equipment safe where required and recommend remedial works.
• Complete service reports, test results and maintenance records accurately.
• Participate in a 1-in-5 on-call rota for emergency breakdowns.

Applicants should hold current commercial ACS qualifications, including:

• COCN1 or CODNCO1 - commercial gas safety core or domestic-to-commercial changeover.
• CIGA1 - commercial indirect-fired heating appliances, including boilers.
• ICPN1 - commercial gas pipework.
• TPCP1A or TPCP1 - gas pipework testing and purging, appropriate to the installations covered.
• CORT1 for commercial radiant heaters and CDGA1 for direct-fired heating appliances would also be advantageous.
