Job summary

Omega in Reading seeks an experienced HVAC Technician to join the team on a permanent basis. The role involves servicing supermarkets, completing planned maintenance schedules, and promptly responding to central Helpdesk alarms.

You will work on air handling units, boilers, chillers, and related systems, ensuring safety policies are followed and faults are flagged for replacement as needed. The position offers a competitive salary with on-call standby 1:4, overtime opportunities, and travel time

Qualifications

• Hold recognized Commercial Gas qualifications (at least 4 listed).
• 17th or 18th Edition (Desirable).
• Experience with unvented water heaters and associated safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls and alarms from Helpdesk, assess job requirements and carry out repairs within agreed timescales.
• Carry out service and maintenance on HVAC assets including AHUs, gas-fired heating, LPHW, DX coils, heat pumps, split AC, LPHW boilers, pumps, inverters, DHW boilers and water chillers.
• Identify non-repairable faults and advise Line Manager with replacement recommendations.
• Comply with Health, Safety & Environmental policies.

My client is on the lookout for an experienced HVAC Technician to join the team. You will have the opportunity to work on one of their leading supermarket contracts.

• Complete the PPM agreed schedule ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures.
• To respond (promptly and positively) to service call/alarm requests from the central Helpdesk and to assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as necessary within agreed timescales and response times. Updating the call and job status afterwards.
• Carry out service and maintenance on HVAC assets including but not limited to air handling units with gas fired heating, LPHW, DX coils, heat pump systems, single split air conditioning, LPHW boilers, pumps, inverters, DHW boilers, and water chillers.
• To identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Line Manager of findings and to make recommendations to the Line Manager regarding suitable replacement.

Qualifications & Experience – Commercial Gas Engineer

• You will hold recognized Commercial Gas qualifications – you will have at least 4 of the following qualifications: COCN1, CIGA1, CORT1, TPCP1, TPCP1A, ICPN1, CENWAT, CPA1, CDGA1, CCP1
• 17th or 18th Edition (Desirable)
• Unvented Water Heaters – HWSS Hot Water Systems & Safety (including G3 Unvented HWS) – Essential
