Salary: £41,818.21 per annum

Contract: Permanent, full-time, 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Commercial Gas Engineer to join our team at HMP Albany (IOW), a category B adult male prison. Join a supportive team working Monday to Friday to create a safe environment.

HMP Albany (IOW) operates like a self-contained city. Our Facilities Maintenance Team ensures smooth and safe operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

You will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all committed to providing a secure environment.

Responsibilities

• Utilize your skills to improve safety and efficiency within the facility.
• Ensure compliance with Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements.
• Adhere to Gas Safe regulations and standards.
• Possibly work with commercial catering gas appliances.
• Maintain safety and quality standards in line with industry certifications.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience as a heating or combustion engineer or similar role.
• Familiarity with Water Supply Regulation, Legionella L8, and Gas Safe regulations.
• Experience with commercial catering gas appliances is beneficial.
• Certificates: C&G 6035, C&G 6189, NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing, CCN1, COCN1.
• Strong Health & Safety knowledge.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
