Job summary

MarkMay is seeking a Commercial Gas Engineer to join our project team on major private and public projects based in Ipswich and at various sites. This role rewards a results-driven individual with the drive to contribute to our growth and ongoing success.

Hours are 07:30–16:00. Salary ranges from £19–£23 per hour (DOE) with overtime; OTE £70,000+.

Qualifications

• Commercial gas qualifications required.
• 2-3+ years of experience with commercial heating systems.
• Current NVQ, C&G or equivalent in plumbing or heating; Enhanced DBS checks.
• Current Domestic & Commercial Gas qualifications; training refresher can be provided.
• Full clean UK driving licence; willingness to travel and stay away when needed.
• Good communication skills and safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and solve issues on commercial gas projects.
• Provide strong customer service and clear communication.
• Work autonomously and within a team on site.
• Prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Read technical diagrams and follow specifications.
• Uphold Health and Safety standards.
• Work on commercial plumbing systems as required.

Role Overview:

We are looking for Commercial Gas Engineer to join our clients project team to work on major private and public projects based. This role requires someone who is a result orientated individual and is driven and motivated to participate in the growth and continued success of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to have a problem-solving approach, troubleshoot a job no matter its difficulties.
• Strong customer service and communication skills both verbal and written.
• Able to carry out commercial gas activities autonomously and as part of a team.
• Proven experience to prioritise, organise and effectively achieve deadlines.
• Ability to read technical diagrams.
• Strong Health and Safety values.
• Proven experience of working on commercial plumbing systems.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• Commercial gas qualifications
• At least 2 - 3+ years of experience working commercial heating systems.
• Current NVQ, C&G or equivalent in plumbing or heating.Ability to pass Enhanced DBS checks.
• Current Domestic & Commercial Gas qualifications - training refresher can be provided.
• Full clean manual UK driving licence - confidential chat if there are points.
• Must be willing to travel and stay away if required (with notice).
• Good communication skills are a necessity for this position.
• Committed and proactive attitude towards safety.
• Desirable: IPAF / PASMA qualification.
• Desirable: CSCS card.
• Desirable: Current FGas Qualification.
