Job summary

Office Owls Recruitment Limited is assisting a well-established national contractor to recruit a Commercial Gas Engineer for their Edinburgh-based team. You will service and maintain commercial heating systems, install and repair boilers and water systems, and work across public sector and office contracts.

The role requires formal plumbing qualifications and commercial gas certs, with LPG/OFTEC desirable. A full UK driving licence and strong health-and-safety knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing.
• Commercial Gas Qualifications: COCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, CORT1, ICPN1A.
• LPG qualification (desirable).
• OFTEC 101, 105E & 600A (desirable).
• Unvented Hot Water Storage certification.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain commercial heating systems and boilers
• Install, diagnose, and repair heating systems and domestic hot and cold water systems
• Install heating plant, domestic water plant, and water heaters
• Carry out pipework installation for water, gas, air, and associated systems
• Operate press-fit tools
• Complete reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance
• Work collaboratively with other trades on-site
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and building standards
• Complete job reports and associated documentation accurately
• Prepare material lists and support apprentices when required
• Participate in the on-call rota to provide emergency support
• Undertake additional duties in line with business requirements

SALARY & BENEFITS

• £40,000 - £45,000 basic salary (ote £50,000 +)
