Job summary

Emtec Facility Services is seeking a Commercial Gas Engineer to join our mobile Birmingham team. You’ll install, service and repair commercial heating systems, with a company vehicle provided and a focus on safety and client satisfaction.

Role involves working across sites, responding to maintenance needs, and collaborating with the engineering team to deliver high-quality service while upholding industry regulations.

Qualifications

• Commercial gas qualifications are essential: CCN1, CORT1, ICPN1, COCN1 and CDGAO1.
• Experience in planned and reactive maintenance within commercial environments.
• A Full UK driving licence is required.
• Ability to work safely at height, in confined spaces and perform manual handling.
• Proactive, self-motivated approach with strong problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out installation, servicing, repair and planned preventative maintenance of commercial heating systems.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety procedures and regulations.
• Collaborate with Contract Manager, Supervisor and wider engineering team to deliver services.
• Build relationships with clients and provide a professional service at all times.
• Identify repair requirements and prepare quotations when required.
• Keep up to date with industry standards and best practices for compliance.
• Participate in the on-call rota.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Commercial Gas Engineer to join our mobile team in the Birmingham area. In this position, you’ll provide essential maintenance services for our clients at their sites, with a company vehicle provided.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carrying out the Installation, servicing, repair and planned preventative maintenance of commercial heating systems.

• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with Health and Safety procedures and industry regulations.

• Working closely with the Contract Manager, Supervisor, helpdesk and wider engineering team to deliver an excellent service.

• Building positive relationships with clients, providing a professional service at all times

• Identifying repair requirements and preparing quotations when required

• Keeping up to date with industry standards and best practices to ensure compliance.

• Participating in the on-call rota.

What we are looking for

We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer who takes pride in delivering a high standard of work and enjoys building strong relationships with clients ideally with experience in the Facilities sector.

You’ll have

• Commercial Gas qualifications are essential for this role including as a minimum CCN1, CORT1, ICPN1, COCN1 and CDGAO1

• A good understanding of planned and reactive maintenance within commercial environments

• A Full UK driving licence

• The ability to work safely at height, in confined spaces and carry out manual handling tasks

• A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong problem-solving skills

• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
