Commercial Finance Manager - UK Operations & Strategy

Job summary

ACCA Careers is seeking a Finance Manager to take ownership of the UK operations’ financial management from our South Lanarkshire base, with some travel to England. The role reports to the European Finance Director and offers exposure to the UK leadership team and cross‑border finance projects.

The ideal candidate will have ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, extensive management accounts experience, and a hands‑on, commercially minded approach to drive profitability and working capital improvements

Qualifications

• Qualified professionals with ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in management accounts, budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong commercial judgement and business partnering with operations.
• Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Experience of ERP/finance systems and process improvement.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly management accounts and UK financial reporting.
• Manage month-end, year-end and forecasting cycles.
• Lead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting.
• Analyse margins, costs and variances to drive profitability.
• Manage working capital and cash flow.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity and financial controls.
• Support statutory reporting, audit and tax.
• Partner with senior operational and commercial stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve margins and cost control.
• Improve quality and timeliness of management information.
• Drive improvements to finance processes and controls.
• Support European Finance Director with wider reporting.
