Counted Recruitment is recruiting a Commercial Finance Manager for a global professional services business based in Solihull. The role offers genuine commercial exposure, influencing decision-making and profitability at a senior level.

The successful candidate will manage a small team, engage in client pitches, and work in a hybrid setup (3 days in office, 2 days at home) within a modern Solihull office.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification preferred or QBE for the right experience.
• Commercial finance experience such as FP&A or business partnering.
• Excellent communication and ability to translate financial data for non-finance stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel with ability to handle large data sets.

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of client/operating units, producing weekly and monthly MI on revenue, margin and utilisation.
• Partner with departmental leads to influence commercial decisions with data-driven insights.
• Assist in robust revenue forecasts and flag variances early to senior finance.
• Oversee WIP and revenue recognition policies and ensure accurate billing processes.

About the Business

An exciting opportunity to join a global professional services business, recognised as a leader in its field, as a Commercial Finance Manager based in Solihull with a salary of £50,000 - £60,000. This role sits within the Finance team and offers genuine commercial exposure, giving you the chance to influence decision-making and business performance at a senior level. Reporting into the Commercial Finance Director, you will manage a portfolio of key clients and disciplines, providing insight that directly supports profitability.

Main Duties:

As a Commercial Finance Manager, your main duties include:

• Owning a portfolio of client accounts, producing and reviewing weekly and monthly management information covering revenue, recoverability, margin and utilisation, while tracking performance against target and flagging variances
• Business partnering with departmental leads and client management, using clear, data-driven insight to influence commercial decisions and constructively challenge stakeholders where required
• Supporting client and departmental leads in building realistic, robust revenue forecasts, giving early visibility of potential variances to both client teams and senior finance
• Applying and overseeing relevant accounting and group policies, particularly around WIP and revenue recognition, and ensuring billing processes remain accurate and timely
• Getting involved in client pitch work, supporting the commercial and contractual elements alongside senior finance and legal colleagues, and helping assess the viability of new business opportunities
• Working with senior finance management and data teams to continuously improve management reporting so that it reflects the evolving structure and needs of the business
• Managing and developing a small team, coaching and supporting them to build capability and drive strong performance

What We Are Looking For

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified is preferred, though QBE candidates will be considered for the right experience
