About the role

As a Commercial Finance Manager within the Product division at Booker, you will shape the financial strategy of our wholesale business. Your responsibilities include delivering accurate financial reports and providing analysis to support strategic decisions.

This role offers the chance to work closely with senior leaders, influencing key decisions with your financial expertise. You will also lead a team of three analysts, supporting their development and ensuring high-quality insights for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business leadership to meet and exceed expectations.
• Support the Pro area within the Product function, managing year-on-year analyses, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Manage Supplier Terms Agreements within your key pro area.
• Identify and mitigate risks proactively.
• Provide decision support to address performance gaps.
• Analyze data to support FP&A decision-making.
• Review and critique business plans to ensure financial rigor.
• Lead business plan reviews, ensuring plans are realistic and performance is accurately assessed.
• Build financial models to evaluate the impact of promotions and investments.
• Oversee governance around the period close process, ensuring transparency of accruals and provisions.
• Adhere to company policies and act with integrity.

Requirements

• Proven ability to build positive cross-functional relationships.
• Strong experience in insight, analysis, business planning, and forecasting.
• Effective engagement and influence with senior partners.
• Excellent communication skills and commercial awareness.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work collaboratively to deliver growth initiatives.
• Experience partnering with senior management on financial performance.
• Ownership of budgets and forecasts for savings and growth initiatives.
• Ability to improve processes and increase clarity in workstreams.
• Close collaboration with FP&A teams to monitor performance, risks, and opportunities.
• Qualified accountant (CIMA) preferred, but qualified by experience considered with demonstrated commercial acumen.
