Page Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a small listed group in Maidstone. Reporting to the CEO, the post leads the finance function across the Group, shaping strategy and delivering robust financial insight.

The role offers exposure to board-level reporting, progression towards Finance Director, and a clear pathway to senior leadership on a broad commercial finance agenda with a hands-on management style.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
• Experience leading finance teams in SME/growth environments.
• Experience presenting to senior stakeholders or Boards.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function across the Group and subsidiaries.
• Produce consolidated management accounts and Board reporting.
• Deliver commercial insight to support strategic decision-making.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning.
• Partner with the CEO and senior leadership to improve performance.
• Develop reporting frameworks, KPIs and profitability analysis.
• Manage the Group audit and statutory reporting process.
• Support growth initiatives, investment decisions and operational improvements.
• Lead and develop a small finance team.
• Attend Board meetings and contribute to strategy.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be the most senior full‑time finance professional within the Group, working closely with the Board and Fractional CFO.This is a broad leadership position combining financial control, commercial finance and strategic business partnering. Whilst the role retains responsibility for statutory reporting, governance and financial stewardship, the successful candidate will play a key role in transforming financial information into meaningful business insight.Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the finance function across the Group and its subsidiaries

The Successful Applicant

For this Commercial Head of Finance or Commercial Financial Controller opportunity, we are seeking a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong blend of financial leadership and commercial acumen.You will likely be operating as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance or potentially a Finance Business Partner or Finance Director within an SME, entrepreneurial or growth‑focused environment.You will also demonstrate:

• Strong technical accounting and reporting capability
• Experience presenting to senior stakeholders or Boards
• A commercial mindset with the ability to influence outcomes
• The ability to turn data into actionable business insight
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A hands‑on approach and willingness to operate across both strategic and operational activities
• Ambition to develop into a broader Finance Director position over time
