Who you are:

The successful candidate will be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with relevant commercial experience, excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to present financial data clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Primary objective:

You will collaborate with senior leadership to provide financial insights supporting retail decision-making, including forecasts, analysis, and budget management. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong commercial acumen and a drive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead in budgeting and reforecasts, ensuring forecast accuracy and managing budget controls.
  2. Monitor KPIs and support the retail team in performance analysis and reporting.
  3. Model and monitor store payroll and operating costs for UK and international stores.
  4. Assist in store performance analysis and incentive tracking.
  5. Support risk management and opportunity identification, providing input for monthly forecasts.
  6. Conduct variance analysis and root cause investigations, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  7. Prepare month-end commentary and review P&Ls with senior leadership, offering insights and recommendations.
  8. Support CAPEX forecasting for new stores and budget control for openings.
  9. Perform ad hoc commercial analyses as needed.
  10. Mentor and develop the commercial finance analyst.
Requirements:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
  • Retail industry experience.
  • Business partnering and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills across multiple formats.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data.
  • Results-oriented with end-to-end delivery capability.
  • Excel modeling experience.
  • Experience with management accounts.
  • Familiarity with Oracle is a plus.
