Commercial Finance Manager
Reporting into the Director of Finance, you will deliver our commercial finance agenda, working with and influencing senior stakeholders across the business. You will work cross-functionally, providing insightful analysis and strategic interpretation of data to facilitate key commercial decisions and growth.
What will I be doing?
- Partnering with business stakeholders to evaluate commercial projects and take ownership from a finance perspective.
- Helping to develop the business analysis (FP&A) function, including leading the delivery of the budgeting and forecasting cycle.
- Identifying and presenting key commercial opportunities and risks.
- Implementing our commercial strategy and driving financial growth alongside the Director of Finance.
- Owning the reporting system and developing strategic reports to support decision-making, including commentary on financial month-end results, profit drivers, and variance analysis.
- Challenging the accuracy and completeness of financial results, providing supplementation such as accruals or adjustments where needed.
- Developing and presenting financial models and analyses to evaluate strategic opportunities.
- Supporting the wider business with sales & margin variance analysis to measure performance.
- Building strong relationships with the trading and marketing teams to assess performance and analyze data, including promotional activities and trends.
- Collaborating with the banking team and Director of Finance to develop the cash forecast.
- Performing ad hoc analysis, projects, and duties as required.
What you’ll bring…
- Qualified Accountant with approximately 2 years PQE.
- Experience in E-Commerce and/or retail environments.
- Proficiency in preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- A commercially savvy problem solver capable of challenging across the business.
- Experience in supporting strategic agenda implementation.
- Strong collaborative skills and ability to develop relationships cross-functionally.
- Excellent communication skills for both finance and non-finance audiences.
- Analytical skills to interpret complex data into commercially driven decisions.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Attention to detail with experience handling large, complex data sets.
- Ideally, experience with Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics, or other reporting tools.
