Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience.
• Experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A or finance business partnering.
• Ability to translate data into commercial insight.
• Strong analytical skills with large datasets.
• Practical experience using data visualisation tools, ideally Power BI.
• Advanced Excel skills and large data handling.
• Clear communication of complex financial information.
• Proactive mindset to improve reporting and processes.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Commercial Finance Manager to join a successful and forward-thinking business based in the West Midlands.

This is a varied role offering the opportunity to combine commercial business partnering with data analysis and visualisation, helping the business make better-informed decisions through meaningful financial insight.

The successful candidate will work closely with key stakeholders across the organisation, translating financial and operational data into actionable recommendations, while developing clear, insightful reporting through modern data visualisation tools.

This role would suit a finance professional who enjoys working beyond traditional reporting, has strong commercial acumen and is passionate about using data to influence business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders across the business to understand performance, identify opportunities and support strategic decision-making.
• Provide insightful financial analysis, challenging assumptions and highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Analyse revenue, costs, margins and key performance indicators to drive profitability and operational efficiency.
• Translate financial information into clear, commercially focused recommendations for non-finance stakeholders.
• Develop strong relationships across the business, helping to embed financial understanding and accountability.
• Support the evaluation of commercial initiatives and business cases, assessing their financial impact and potential returns.
• Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, risks and opportunities.
• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
• Transform financial and operational data into clear, accessible insights that support decision-making.
• Improve existing reporting processes, enhancing the quality, accuracy and accessibility of management information.
• Work with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and develop tailored dashboards that provide meaningful performance insights.
• Identify opportunities to automate reporting and improve the efficiency of data analysis.
• Present findings and recommendations in a clear, engaging format to both finance and non-finance audiences.

About You

We are looking for a commercially focused finance professional who combines strong analytical capabilities with the confidence to influence stakeholders and drive business performance.

You will ideally have:

• A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), or be qualified by experience.
• Experience in a Commercial Finance, FP&A, Finance Business Partnering or similar role.
• A proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders and translate financial data into commercial insight.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interrogate complex datasets and identify meaningful trends.
• Practical experience using data visualisation tools, ideally Power BI, to develop dashboards and interactive reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of data.
• The ability to communicate complex financial and analytical information in a clear, concise and commercially relevant way.
• A proactive, inquisitive mindset, with a genuine interest in improving reporting, processes and business performance.
