The Commercial Finance team partners with the Commercial team to ensure the control environment is robust, effective, and in-line with the internal control framework and enable sustainable commercial performance by providing timely and insightful customer analysis.

This role is expected to partner, to a high standard, with the sales teams of PZ UK&I, responsible for > £200m GSV and £160m Turnover.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Lead the process that governs PZUK trade spend with the retailers, to ensure liabilities with the retailer are well understood and accruals are appropriate and in line with company policy and the IC framework.
  2. Driver of high-quality customer analysis for all parts of the PZ Cussons UK and the PZ Cussons Export Personal Care business.
  3. Own the Sales P&L, control and understanding of the P&L from Volume to Gross Margin.
  4. Owner of the financial control framework that wraps around retailer trade spend – playing a key role in ensuring that customer promotional costs are accrued at the right time, in the right way, and to correct levels.
  5. Responsible for monthly Customer Financial Reporting and Analysis (Customer P&Ls, Volume/Rate/Mix Analysis, Tradex Risks and Opportunities identification).
  6. Deliver robust month-end NNS/Trading GM.
  7. Key role in ensuring delivery of robust full year customer profit forecasts with clear visibility of risks and opportunities.
  8. Responsible for all Financial Analysis and evaluation (pre and post) on all elements of customer investment to maximise Return on Investment (ROI).
  9. Finance Business Partner to the Sales teams responsible for the Multiples, Discounters, High Street, Growth & Export channels.
  10. Develop a solid understanding of Promax trade promotion management system and processes, partnering with the Commercial team super users.

Experience:

  1. Qualified Accountant 5+ years PQE minimum.
  2. SAP experience highly preferable but not essential.
  3. Advanced excel skills, pivot tables and data manipulation is essential.
  4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to present financials in a clear and impactful manner.
  5. Self-motivated with a positive attitude and ‘can do’ approach.
  6. Ability to work under pressure within deadlines, managing own time and utilizing initiative.
  7. Highly organized multi-tasker who can effectively delegate tasks and follow up to ensure completion.
  8. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Ability to understand operational and commercial priorities.
  10. Ability to influence non-financial people alike and build strong relationships across a multi-site business.
  11. Ability to work at both a detailed & strategic level.
