Job summary

ICAEW, a prestigious professional body in the United Kingdom, seeks a Finance Analyst to join its growing finance team. You will support project accounting across multiple service lines, gaining exposure to forecasting, business partnering and performance reporting in a dynamic environment.

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, you will analyse financial data, reconcile ERP information and partner with operational teams to improve data quality and drive informed commercial decisions.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or qualified-by-experience in ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent.
• Experience in commercial finance, project accounting or FP&A.
• Strong Excel and financial systems skills.

Responsibilities

• Support project costing and profitability reporting.
• Monitor performance against forecasts and budgets.
• Assist with working capital and cash flow forecasting.
• Reconcile project data with ERP and investigate discrepancies.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with operational and commercial stakeholders, gaining exposure to project finance, forecasting, business partnering and performance reporting within a dynamic environment.

Your new role

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of project financial information across a portfolio of projects. You will support commercial decision-making through the preparation, analysis and reconciliation of financial data, ensuring project performance is accurately reported and understood.

• Supporting the preparation and maintenance of project costing and profitability reports.
• Monitoring project performance against forecasts, budgets and commercial targets.
• Assisting with working capital analysis and cash flow forecasting activities.
• Reconciling project financial information against ERP system data and investigating discrepancies.
• Supporting monthly revenue recognition and reporting processes
• Preparing financial analysis, KPI reporting and project review packs for management.
• Working closely with operational teams to improve data quality and financial understanding across the business.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and the enhancement of reporting processes and systems.

What you'll need to succeed

• Part-qualified status (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent), although qualified-by-experience candidates will also be considered.
• Previous experience within commercial finance, project accounting, management accounting or FP&A.
• Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
• Experience working with ERP and reporting tools.
• Excellent analytical abilities and high attention to detail.
