Newstone Talent Solutions is partnering with a fast-growing technology business in Manchester to recruit a Commercial Finance & Automation Analyst. You will work directly with the CFO on FP&A, financial modelling, and driving automation across finance and operations.

The role focuses on turning data into practical improvements, analysing claims and recoveries, and using AI to boost efficiency. It offers broad exposure to acquisitions, fundraising, and board reporting.

Qualifications

• Finance or analytical background with FP&A experience.
• Experience building financial models and forecasts used by senior stakeholders.
• Interest in AI and automation to improve finance processes.
• Strong analytical skills to explain drivers and actions.
• Experience with Power Query, SQL, Python or similar tools.
• Professional qualification ACA/ACCA/CIMA or part qualification.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Manchester | Hybrid | £50,000 to £60,000 plus bonus and benefits

A fast growing, acquisitive technology business is looking to appoint a Commercial Finance & Automation Analyst to work closely with the CFO as the business continues to scale.

This is a broad commercial finance role combining FP&A, financial modelling, process automation, data analysis and commercial insight. It offers an opportunity to have a genuine impact rather than simply producing reports.

The Opportunity:

Working directly with the CFO, you will play a key role in understanding the financial and operational drivers of the business and turning that analysis into practical improvements.

A particular focus will be on analysing customer claims and recoveries, improving processes and using automation and AI to reduce manual work, improve accuracy and support better decision making.

Alongside this, you will own the group financial model and forecasting process, contribute to board and investor reporting, support commercial analysis and provide financial support around acquisitions and future fundraising.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own monthly claims and recoveries reporting, ensuring data is accurate and providing clear analysis of key trends
• Analyse recovery performance and identify opportunities to improve processes, technology and efficiency
• Identify and implement automation across finance and operational processes
• Use tools such as Power Query, SQL, Python, AI or other automation platforms to reduce manual work and improve accuracy
• Maintain the group financial model and rolling forecast
• Support annual budgeting, budget versus actual analysis and KPI reporting
• Prepare financial analysis and reporting for senior management and board meetings
• Analyse supplier costs and unit economics, identifying opportunities to improve commercial performance
• Support acquisition due diligence, financial modelling and integration activity
• Assist with fundraising analysis and preparation of supporting financial information
• Maintain appropriate financial and corporate governance records

About You:

• A strong finance or analytical background with experience across FP&A, commercial finance or a similar environment.
• Experience building financial models and forecasts that senior stakeholders rely on
• Genuine interest in AI, automation and using technology to improve finance processes
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand why numbers have moved and what action should follow
• Practical experience with tools such as Power Query, SQL, Python, low code platforms or similar would be advantageous
• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification or part qualification, although relevant experience and capability are more important
• Experience presenting financial information to senior stakeholders
• A commercially minded approach with an interest in understanding the wider business
• The ability to work independently across a broad remit and prioritise effectively
• Strong communication skills and the ability to turn detailed analysis into clear recommendations
