Commercial Electrical & Renewables Engineer

Location: South West / UK Travel

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Electrical & Renewables Engineer to join a growing renewable energy business delivering projects across the South West and wider UK.

This is a hands‑on role installing and commissioning commercial electrical and renewable energy systems including Solar PV, heat pumps, EV chargers and energy storage systems.

The Role

As a Commercial Electrical & Renewables Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Installing and commissioning renewable energy systems
• Carrying out commercial electrical installation work
• Working with Solar PV and battery storage systems
• Supporting heat pump and EV charger installations
• Completing pre‑installation and commissioning checks
• Working alongside design teams to improve installations
• Planning and programming installation works
• Liaising with clients, contractors and other trades
• Reading technical drawings and plans
• Completing site paperwork and reports
• Carrying out risk assessments and maintaining safe working practices

The Person

We are looking for a Commercial Electrical & Renewables Engineer with:

• Commercial electrical installation experience
• Relevant electrical qualifications
• Good electrical installation and fault‑finding knowledge
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Good understanding of site health and safety
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel and work away when required

Previous renewable energy experience would be advantageous, although experienced commercial electricians looking to develop further within renewables will also be considered.

Experience or qualifications covering Solar PV, MCS, Electrical Inspection & Testing, Part P, BPEC, heat pumps, EV charging or battery storage would be particularly useful.

Projects are based throughout the South West and across the UK, so the successful Commercial Electrical & Renewables Engineer must be comfortable travelling and occasionally working away from home.

Package

The successful Commercial Electrical & Renewables Engineer will receive a basic salary from £34,000 per annum.
