Are you ready to turn data into decisive actions that shape how life-changing cancer medicines reach patients? Do you want to influence go-to-market strategy, channel mix and customer engagement in a role where your insights are adopted and measured for impact?

As Commercial Effectiveness Manager, you will partner closely with franchise and cross-functional leaders to optimise commercial performance through evidence-based recommendations. You will diagnose what drives performance across national and sub-national levels, translate analytics into clear narratives and options, and challenge assumptions to unlock growth and improve ROI.

Working at pace across a pipeline of innovative therapies, you will focus investment, resource allocation and engagement where they matter most. You will move from quick wins to scalable improvements, standardising and automating processes while elevating commercial operations and field effectiveness.

Accountabilities:
  • Commercial Performance Diagnostics: Be a trusted commercial partner who influences decisions through robust analytics, clear storytelling and actionable recommendations; identify national and sub-national drivers of performance and propose targeted actions; monitor adoption and measure impact against business objectives.
  • Go-to-Market and Channel Optimization: Lead analytical workstreams to design and refine go-to-market models aligned to brand strategy and customer needs; advise on channel mix, reach and frequency; identify multichannel and account-based planning opportunities; provide clear options and trade-offs to inform rapid decision-making.
  • Customer Engagement and Field Force Effectiveness: Support field force sizing, deployment and organisational design; optimise resource allocation and engagement cadence to improve ROI; enhance customer coverage and engagement quality through evidence-based guidance, with a focus on measurable outcomes.
  • Commercial Operations Excellence: Lead core commercial operations processes with a focus on effectiveness, efficiency and compliance; drive automation, standardisation and simplification; design sales incentive programmes, target-setting methodologies and performance tracking; build segmentation and targeting models; oversee CRM-based targeting and support territory alignment to balance workload and opportunity; define reporting requirements and performance measures to turn insight into action.
  • Stakeholder Leadership and Change Delivery: Partner with franchise leadership to address key business questions and growth opportunities; manage complex, high-priority initiatives; prioritise resources for maximum impact; provide subject matter expertise on systems and processes to enhance customer engagement and overall commercial performance.
Essential Skills/Experience:
  • Relevant pharmaceutical, commercial, consultancy or agency experience in go-to-market, commercial effectiveness, sales, marketing or analytics-related roles.
  • Proven experience influencing commercial performance through analytics, business insight, strategy, marketing, sales leadership, commercial operations or commercial effectiveness.
  • Advanced capability translating large, complex datasets into commercially meaningful insights and recommendations.
  • Proven experience partnering with commercial or franchise leadership teams to diagnose performance challenges, provide commercial challenge and translate insights into actionable recommendations that improve business outcomes.
  • Strong expertise in go-to-market execution, customer engagement and channel mix optimisation, with demonstrated evidence of commercial impact.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience operating across all organisational levels.
  • Ability to work effectively at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Strong project management and prioritisation capability.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, high-priority and high-profile commercial initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Economics, Life Sciences, Analytics or a related field.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
  • Experience within UK pharmaceutical environments, particularly oncology or specialty care.
  • Knowledge of customer engagement analytics, multichannel strategy and account-based planning.
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as Veeva or Salesforce and with Power BI.
  • Experience in segmentation, targeting, incentive design and territory alignment.
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical compliance and commercial operations.
  • Experience supporting digital transformation, reporting automation or capability-building initiatives.
  • Advanced degree or professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Project Management or Change Management certification.
