Job Description

Night Train Digital, a division of Eccho Rights, are looking for an experienced, agile Commercial Director of Digital to lead our global Digital Services. Providing end-to-end digital content services, including strategy development, content production, channel management, audience engagement, and monetisation across YouTube, social media, and other emerging digital platforms, NTD currently operates more than 50 Youtube channels, with over 21 million subscribers enjoying our television drama, factual, entertainment and feature film offerings.

THE ROLE

Leading a team of digital specialists based in London and Istanbul, this role is responsible for driving the strategy and execution of our digital division, working in close partnership with the existing commercial, content, and deliverable teams across the Night Train Group.This role requires a strategic thinker who understands monetization in the digital space and who can drive innovation, growth, and efficiency for Night Train through new channels whilst maximising potential in the existing portfolio. The role will require a travel to our other offices and to markets such as MIPCOM and Realscreen.

The successful candidate must have a highly commercial mindset, with a relentless focus on measurable performance and profit. They will be expected to negotiate advantageous acquisition terms and optimise monetisation across all available channels, driving strong financial outcomes for the group.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership

  • In conjunction with the CEO, set the vision for the Digital team. Drive buy-in and adoption of this vision across the Night Train group
  • Identify emerging trends, technologies, and platforms to ensure the company remains at the forefront of digital innovation
  • Identify how the Night Train group can monetize it’s owned IP to reduce reliance on third party content
  • Maximise CPM’s across all channels, but particularly in English speaking markets
  • Grow the profile of Night Train Digital through attendance at markets, trade events and conferences

Team Management

  • Lead the team from London, setting the tone and pattern for working behaviour
  • Optimise ways of working within the Digital Services team, leveraging the team we have to deliver growth and enhanced monetization
  • Mentor and guide our digital specialists including day to day oversight, annual goal setting and career planning

Partner Engagement

  • Identify new Client partnerships and acquire content and brands that support the growth goals of the division
  • Build relationships with key senior stakeholders across the entire Night Train group
  • Oversee key relationships with partners such as Google, Spotify and TikTok (and others)
  • Maximise commercial efficiency of our global deals with these partners

Commercial Performance

  • Drive aggressive growth of digital revenue streams through KPI-led performance management and monetisation optimisation
  • Lead all major commercial negotiations with content partners, platforms, and service providers to ensure favourable terms and scalable business models
  • Set clear commercial targets and track progress using a defined set of KPIs focused on profitability, growth, and efficiency
  • Continuously analyse monetisation data to uncover new opportunities, reduce underperformance, and refine pricing and deal structures
  • Ensure all acquisition and content partnerships contribute meaningfully to revenue growth and ROI

Other ad hoc responsibilities as required.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will be bright, self-motivated, and will bring commercial acumen anda profitability focus to the role. Setting a long-term digital vision, whilst executing a strategic roadmap that delivers tangible impact in the short term will be key priorities for this role. This includes accountability for growing and owning new digital revenue whilst also leveraging their experience to optimise existing revenue streams.

They will bring a rigorous, KPI-driven approach to all commercial activity and will be accountable for delivering strong, data-backed results in negotiation, monetisation, and business development.

Qualifications

  • Solid experience in a commercial digital role, ideally in a large TV or Film distribution organisation
  • An experienced negotiator who can confidently secure favourable terms for the group
  • Track record of developing excellent relationships with senior level stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge across the digital revenue spectrum, including FAST, AVOD and UGCP
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A team player that can support the wider Night Train group companies with developing business in the digital space
  • A strong strategic thinker
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams
  • Analytical mindset, able to interpret and scrutinise large data sets in order develop clear insights, narratives and actions
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth through commercially savvy deal-making and by tracking and managing to clearly defined performance metrics
