Job summary

Versant is seeking a curious and commercially minded Data Analyst to join its Finance & Analytics team in the UK. You will help understand performance across Sales, Marketing and Finance by producing reliable reporting, analysing trends and supporting planning and forecasting.

Early in your analytics career, you will work closely with the Analytics & Reporting Manager and engage with senior stakeholders. Expect hands-on work with SQL, Tableau, Excel and commercial analytics.

Qualifications

• Some experience in data, reporting, finance or business-analysis role.
• Excellent Excel skills: formulas, pivot tables and data manipulation.
• Basic to intermediate SQL skills, ideally SQL Server.
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI or another reporting tool.
• Comfort with numbers; able to spot trends or inconsistencies.
• Strong attention to detail and methodical problem-solving.
• Good communication and the ability to explain findings clearly.
• Organised, proactive and keen to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support creation and maintenance of Sales, Marketing and company KPIs.
• Produce regular reporting on revenue, sales activity, marketing performance, customer behaviour and other commercial measures.
• Build and maintain dashboards and reporting in Tableau.
• Use SQL Server and Excel to extract, analyse and validate data from multiple systems.
• Support analysis of performance against budget, forecast and prior year.
• Identify trends, opportunities and risks; present findings to stakeholders.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to assess campaign ROI and challenge assumptions.
• Use AI tools to improve analysis and automate tasks.
• Improve reporting quality with Salesforce and other systems.
• Maintain KPI definitions, reporting documentation and data checks.
• Respond to ad-hoc analysis requests and contribute to wider Finance & Analytics projects.
