Job description

Job Description: Commercial Contracts Lead at Thames Water

This is a unique Commercial Contracts role within Thames Water, where you will be part of our Strategic Resource Options (SRO) team. This team is developing a portfolio of 5 major infrastructure projects, including a new reservoir in Oxfordshire and other water supply resilience infrastructure programs. These projects have a total capital value of over £5 billion.

This role works with the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain for the SRO Directorate. You will provide commercial and contractual management support for technical and program management partners.

What you’ll be doing
  • Supporting technical and program partner service managers.
  • Building capability for commercial support under NEC4 contracts.
  • Ensuring Thames Water and Service Managers correctly discharge their roles concerning commercial elements of the Partner Frameworks.
  • Providing commercial and contractual guidance to Service Managers.
  • Collaborating with the Head of Programme Controls and Insights, SRO Senior Leadership Team, and others to ensure project outputs meet standards and provide value.
  • Steering performance measurement, value management, and change control processes.

This is a hybrid role based at Camelford House, 89 Albert Embankment, London SE1 7TP.

What you should bring to the role
  • Degree level education with RICS qualification and membership.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills with experience working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Significant leadership experience on multi-billion-pound infrastructure projects (e.g., construction, highways, utilities, railways).
  • Previous experience as a Senior Commercial Quantity Surveyor Manager or Commercial Lead managing Delivery Partners or Contractors.
  • Resilience and adaptability, fostering an environment for team success.
  • A strong work ethic concerning health, safety, and wellbeing.
