Role

We are seeking a Commercial Contract Manager for a 9-month fixed-term contract to provide paternity cover. This role is critical to ensuring the effective commercial management of M&G’s strategic supplier relationships, particularly within COO Asset Management.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, manage day-to-day contract operations, and lead commercial oversight across a portfolio of high-value financial services suppliers. This is a 9 month FTC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Management: Oversee daily contract activities, resolve supplier queries, and remediate agreement gaps.
  • Commercial Relationship Leadership: Chair commercial committees and manage relationships with key partners.
  • Contract Repository Oversight: Maintain contract databases and account plans to ensure accurate MI and informed decision-making.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify and mitigate contract risks and escalate issues to senior stakeholders as needed.
  • Supplier Performance: Lead oversight of supplier obligations and build D&O trackers for in-scope suppliers.
  • Fee Structure Expertise: Provide SME-level support on contract fees and cost views across supplier spend.
  • Supplier Consolidation: Represent the team in supplier transitions, reviewing legal terms and managing exits.
  • Material Relationship Support: Deliver BAU contract support for one of M&G’s material outsourcers.
  • Market Data Strategy: Collaborate with the market data programme to support strategic delivery.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in commercial and contract management within complex supplier environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Expert knowledge of contract law and commercial risk management.
  • Financial and analytical acumen with the ability to resolve complex issues.
  • Desirable: MCIPS, IACCM, or Risk Management qualifications.
