The role involves PPM, reactive maintenance and fault finding on HVAC and combustion plant across multiple sites, with a focus on safe, compliant operation. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Mobile Commercial Combustion Engineer or Commercial Gas Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of commercial heating systems, combustion equipment and associated plant.
• Experience working across multiple commercial sites.
• Solid background in building services maintenance.
• Excellent fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of building services compliance and health & safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance on commercial heating, combustion and HVAC plant.
• Diagnose faults and undertake reactive maintenance and repairs.
• Respond to emergency call-outs and additional works as required.
• Ensure equipment operates safely and in compliance with regulations and standards.
• Identify issues and recommend remedial works.
• Maintain accurate service records and compliance documentation.
• Deliver professional service and maintain client/site relationships.
• Work independently across multiple sites in the Oxford, Swindon and surrounding areas.

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mobile Commercial Combustion Engineer on behalf of a well‑established building services and commercial gas engineering company. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected business with a strong reputation for technical expertise, quality service and long‑standing client relationships.

The company has decades of industry experience and is part of a wider national engineering and technical services group, offering the stability and support of an established organisation alongside a close‑knit team environment.

The successful candidate will cover Oxford, Swindon and the surrounding areas, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, fault finding and additional works across a range of commercial HVAC and combustion plant.

We are keen to speak with engineers who have a strong background in commercial building services, excellent fault‑finding skills and experience working independently across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on commercial heating, combustion and HVAC plant.
• Diagnose faults and undertake reactive maintenance and repairs.
• Respond to emergency call‑outs and additional works as required.
• Ensure all equipment operates safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant regulations and compliance standards.
• Identify potential issues and recommend appropriate remedial works.
• Maintain accurate service records, reports and relevant compliance documentation.
• Deliver a professional service while maintaining positive relationships with clients and site contacts.
• Work independently across multiple commercial sites within the Oxford, Swindon and surrounding areas.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:

• Proven experience as a Mobile Commercial Combustion Engineer or Commercial Gas Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of commercial heating systems, combustion equipment and associated plant.
• Experience working across multiple commercial sites.
• A solid background in building services maintenance.
• Excellent fault‑finding, diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
• A good understanding of building services compliance and health and safety requirements.
• Relevant mechanical, gas or HVAC qualifications.
• A full, valid UK driving licence.

Candidates should ideally hold relevant ACS qualifications and certifications, including:

• CCN1 – Core Domestic Natural Gas Safety
• CENWAT1 – Central Heating Boilers and Water Heaters
• CKR1 – Domestic Cooking Appliances
• HTR1 – Domestic Fires and Wall Heaters
• UDHW – Unvented Domestic Hot Water Systems
• LCWR – Water Regulations
• CODNCO1 – Domestic to Commercial Gas Safety Changeover
• ICPN1 – Installation of Commercial Pipework
• CIGA1 – Indirect‑Fired Appliances
• CDGA1 – Direct‑Fired Appliances
• CORT1 – Radiant and Tube Heaters
• BMP1 – Gas Boosters
• TPCP1 and TPCP1A – Testing and Purging of Installation Pipework
