Job summary

Randstad Construction and Property is recruiting Carpenters for commercial sites in Oxford. We have both long-term and short-term opportunities with flexible start dates to suit availability.

First Fix involves erecting the structural skeleton, while Second Fix covers doors and internal fittings. Site work includes measuring and fitting components per architectural plans, with coordination among site managers and other trades.

Qualifications

• Experience in carpentry on construction sites.
• Ability to read and interpret basic plans and measurements.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• First Fix: Erects the structural skeleton of a building, including floor joists, wall partitions, roof timbers, and staircases before plastering.
• Second Fix: Installs internal and external fittings after plastering, such as doors, door frames, skirting boards, and window frames.
• Site Work: Measures, cuts, shapes, and fits timber and building components using hand and power tools based on architectural plans.
• Collaboration: Coordinates daily tasks with site managers, clients, and other trades like plumbers and bricklayers.
