Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an ambitious Secured Lending Solicitor to join its Property Finance team in London. You will advise on secured lending and property finance matters for banks, lenders and borrowers, with exposure to high‑value transactions and a collaborative, progression‑driven environment.

The ideal candidate has 3–4 years PQE or equivalent, strong experience representing lenders, and excellent technical abilities, client management and business development skills.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years PQE (or equivalent) in secured lending or property finance.
• Proven experience acting for lenders on secured lending matters.
• Strong knowledge of commercial and residential property transactions.
• Experience handling bridging finance and property finance work.

Responsibilities

• Advising on a broad range of secured lending and property finance matters for banks, lenders and borrowers.
• Drafting and negotiating finance and security documentation.
• Handling third-party mortgages, deeds of priority, and related security arrangements.
• Liaising with borrowers' solicitors and other professional advisers.

The firm advises a broad range of clients, including banks, specialist lenders, bridging finance providers, and commercial borrowers, and has built a recognised practice acting on complex and high-value lending transactions. Due to continued growth and increasing demand for its services, the firm is looking to expand its highly regarded Property Finance team. The team handles a steady flow of lender-side work, offering solicitors exposure to a wide variety of secured lending matters across both commercial and residential property transactions.

Job Description

You will advise on a broad range of secured lending and property finance matters, including:

• Acting for banks, specialist lenders, and short-term finance providers.
• Bridging finance and property finance transactions.
• Drafting and negotiating finance and security documentation.
• Third-party mortgages, deeds of priority, and related security arrangements.
• Liaising with borrowers' solicitors and other professional advisers.
• Reviewing title documentation and legal reports efficiently and accurately.
• Advising on title insurance and risk mitigation solutions.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Ideally 3-4 years PQE, although candidates with more or less experience will be considered depending on relevant expertise.
• Proven experience acting for lenders on secured lending matters.
• Strong knowledge of both commercial and residential property transactions.
• Experience handling bridging finance and property finance work.
• Excellent technical ability and commercial awareness.
• Strong client relationship management and business development skills.
