Job description

The role

We’re seeking a motivated and experienced Account Handler (Commercial) to join the Jensten Group. We arrange insurance directly with policyholders or via other brokers, offering a range of products and excellent service. Reporting to the manager, the main purpose of the role is to retain and renew clients, handle mid-term adjustments (MTAs), and assist with client queries. The role is based in our Cheadle office, with hybrid working options available after onboarding. Key objectives and responsibilities include:

  • Present insurance solutions, including policies and risk management options, to secure renewals and new business. Collaborate with colleagues and managers to improve team performance.
  • Identify and pursue cross-selling and up-selling opportunities, utilizing leads and developing new methods to increase quote volume.
  • Achieve or exceed targets for quotes, sales, and income from all marketing sources.
  • Understand clients’ business operations, risks, and risk management approaches.
  • Ensure compliance with local procedures, customer service standards, and external regulations such as FCA.

About you

You should have excellent communication and written skills, with keen attention to detail. A desire for continuous development and career progression is essential. You will ideally have:

  • An insurance background, particularly in Commercial insurance (essential)
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Cert CII) or working towards them
  • Strong customer service skills
  • An excellent telephone manner and ability to build relationships
  • A passion for learning and developing within insurance
  • Previous experience in a similar role, working with insurers and clients
  • The ability to use initiative, multitask, and manage admin and systems efficiently
  • Knowledge and experience with Acturis systems (preferably)
