We are seeking a skilled Commercial Account Handler to join our client’s dynamic team. As a Commercial Account Handler, you will be responsible for managing and servicing a portfolio of commercial clients, providing them with exceptional support and guidance. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and have a strong understanding of commercial insurance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients, understanding their unique insurance needs and providing appropriate solutions.
- Handle the day-to-day servicing of client accounts, including policy issuance, endorsements, and renewals.
- Collaborate with the account executive to prepare and present client proposals and insurance programs.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, insurance products, and regulations to provide informed advice to clients.
- Assist in the negotiation of terms and conditions with insurance carriers to obtain the best coverage for clients.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions and transactions in the agency management system.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial account handling and operations within an insurance brokerage or agency.
- Minimum 5 GCSE, Grades A-C including English and Maths.
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, coverages, and underwriting processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in agency management software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Relevant insurance certifications such as Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS) or Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) are a plus.
Day-to-Day
- Communicate with clients to understand their insurance needs and provide expert advice.
- Process client requests for policy changes, endorsements, and certificates of insurance.
- Collaborate with account executives to prepare comprehensive insurance proposals.
- Liaise with insurance carriers to obtain quotes and negotiate terms on behalf of clients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in the agency management system.
- Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes to better serve clients.
