Job summary

East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust's Colorectal Team in Ipswich is seeking a Straight to Test - Colorectal Nurse. You will support the early colorectal cancer pathway, triage referrals, conduct telephone assessments and coordinate diagnostic investigations.

The role requires good clinical knowledge of colorectal disease, ability to apply guidelines, maintain accurate records and work within the MDT. Full training and supervision will be provided.

Qualifications

• Clinical triage of referrals and telephone assessments.
• Experience with colorectal disease, comorbidities and frailty is desirable.
• Ability to apply guidelines and protocols within professional scope.

Responsibilities

• Review and triage referrals per the Faster Diagnosis Standard pathway.
• Assess history, comorbidities and fitness for investigation via telephone/clinical review.
• Arrange/advise investigations and coordinate through the diagnostic pathway.
• Escalate delays or need for senior review as required.
• Maintain accurate electronic records and liaise with MDT members.
