Job summary

Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Band 6 Nurse to join the Diagnostics Service within the Older People’s Care Unit in Sutton-in-Ashfield. The role focuses on triage and pre-assessment of new referrals, ensuring timely CT/MRI referrals before the initial assessment.

The post holder will be the service's primary contact, handling calls from referrers, patients and carers with urgent queries to support coordinated care and multidisciplinary collaboration

This role is to work in the Diagnostics Service within the Older People’s Care Unit providing triage and pre-assessment of all the new referrals that are received by the team.

This is a vacancy for an existing Band 6 Nurse

The role will take responsibility for the receipt of referrals made either internally or by external organisations, ensuring all patients referred for an assessment are contacted and triaged and referred for a CT/MRI scan where required, before the initial assessment takes place.

The postholder will serve as the primary contact for the service, handling calls from referrers, patients, and carers who may have urgent queries that cannot be delayed until their care coordinator becomes available.
