Job summary

A leading education provider in Chelmsford seeks a dedicated College Support Worker to provide tailored support for students with additional learning needs. You'll assist students aged 16-19 in their education and personal development in a full-time role, Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate is patient and proactive, with a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection is essential, as well as an enhanced DBS check.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an educational, college, or care setting, particularly Post 16.
  • Patient, proactive, and passionate about helping learners.
  • Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

College Support Worker
Location: Chelmsford
Start Date: ASAP
Daily Rate: £90–£140 (depending on experience)

We are currently seeking a dedicated College Support Worker to join a dynamic and supportive Post-16 college setting in Chelmsford. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with additional learning needs as they transition into adulthood.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to students aged 16–19 with a range of additional needs (including SEN, ASD, and SEMH).

Assist in lessons, promote engagement, and encourage independence in both academic and vocational sessions.

Support students with personal development, life skills, and progression into further study or employment.

Work closely with teaching staff and specialists to ensure all students have access to the curriculum and appropriate interventions.

Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.

Ideal Candidate:

Experience working with young people in an educational, college, or care setting—particularly Post 16.

Confidently supporting students with additional needs, including those working towards independence.

Patient, proactive, and passionate about helping learners achieve their goals.

A strong communicator with excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

This role is full-time, Monday to Friday, and starts immediately.
