Job summary

RNN Group’s Colleges are looking for a dedicated College Minibus Driver to transport learners between campuses in South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire. You will join the Estates Team, coordinating with teaching staff to support trips and community visits with reliable, safe transport.

The role is permanent, part-time (15 hours per week, term-time only 36 weeks per year) with shifts 7.30am–10.30am and 2.00pm–5.00pm, Monday to Friday, and a structured benefits package including pension,

Qualifications

• Experience driving small to medium vans/minibuses.
• Hold MIDAS Minibus Driver Training or be willing to undertake it.
• Full UK D1 driving licence (no endorsements), held for over 2 years.
• Willing to undertake training including Safeguarding and First Aid at Work.

Responsibilities

• Transport learners between college locations and on trips.
• Keep vehicles roadworthy through routine maintenance and checks.
• Assist with fleet bookings coordination.
• Rectify faults in liaison with Estates team.
• Daily housekeeping to keep vehicles clean and tidy.

College Minibus Driver

Location: Multi-site position; Rotherham, Dearne and North Notts Colleges, based within South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire

Salary: £25,456 1 FTE (£8,494.15 pro-rata) a year + benefits

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Part Time (15 Hours per week), Term Time Only (36 weeks per year)

Working pattern 1: 7.30am – 10.30am Monday to Friday

Working pattern 2: 2.00pm – 5.00pm Monday to Friday

The driver fulfils a key role, learners are transported between college locations within the RNN group.

We are looking for minibus drivers to join our Colleges’ Estates Team where you will work closely with other support staff, teaching assistants and tutors to drive our minibuses transporting young people between Campuses and support young people on trips and visits into the community.

Main duties would include (but are not limited to):

• To transport young people in accordance with Group policies, using any Group owned or hired vehicles as may be required. (This could be between colleges and around communities)
• To ensure the Groups vehicles are kept roadworthy through regular and routine maintenance, compliance checks, record keeping and reporting faults in a timely manner as required.
• To assist the Estates team with the coordination of the fleet bookings system.
• To ensure faults are rectified in a timely manner through liaison with the Estates team.
• To undertake daily housekeeping routines associated with the role which includes ensuring vehicles are kept clean and tidy.

You will…

• Have experience driving small to medium vans and/or minibuses
• Have completed MIDAS Minibus Driver Training (or be willing to undertake) and hold a Full UK D1 driving licence (no endorsements), held for over 2 years
• Be willing to undertake any training connected with the post including Safeguarding, First Aid at Work & a drivers medical
• Work in a professional and confidential manner with a high degree of integrity
• Be highly flexible and able to respond to quick changes in demands upon you including responding to urgent jobs and supporting colleagues across the Group’s Support Teams

Department Info

You will be expected to act with a degree of autonomy on a day-to-day basis, whilst reporting to your line manager, the Estates Admin and Transport Coordinator. You will work co-operatively with colleagues across all College Campuses and premises.

As a College Minibus Driver, you will need to be flexible to work across all campuses and there may be a requirement to cover shifts as/when required on occasion.
