University of Manchester is seeking a motivated and collaborative Collections Engagement Officer for a fixed-term maternity cover at the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah RACE Centre. The role focuses on increasing knowledge and use of the Centre’s library and archives through inclusive, creative engagement with academics, schools, communities and the public.

Qualificações

• Experience embedding anti-racism and social justice in engagement activities.
• Experience of working with collections.
• Ability to develop and deliver inclusive and creative engagement activities.
• Experience working with a range of audiences and stakeholders.
• Commitment to the values of anti-racism, community partnership and inclusive practice.

Responsabilidades

• Increasing knowledge, value and use of the Centre’s library and archive collections through inclusive and creative engagement activities.
• Working with academic audiences, schools and young people, community organisations, cultural and heritage sector organisations, and the general public.
• Embedding racial and social justice principles in creative collections-based engagement work.
• Developing and maintaining meaningful relationships and partnerships that support engagement with the Centre’s collections.
• Supporting the Centre’s mission to make Global Majority history, heritage and culture more accessible through community partnerships and inclusive practice.
