Job summary

Royal Mail in Basildon is seeking a Collection and Network Driver for a fixed-term contract of 9 months. You will work Saturdays from 09:30 to 15:30 for 6 hours per week, collecting parcels up to 30 kg and delivering across the network.

The role includes sorting mailbags, visiting post offices, and ensuring timely handoffs to processing centres. Candidates must hold a full UK manual driving licence (max 6 penalty points), enjoy outdoor work, and adapt to flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• A guaranteed hourly rate of £13.68p/h / £16.24p/h (paid monthly and adjusted to your working hours).

Please note: For candidate search purposes, roles offering between 35-37 hours per week are listed as full-time. However, any role under 37 hours per week will be classified as part‑time in the employment contract.

As a Collection Driver, you’re expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.
