Job summary

King's College London is seeking a part-time Programme Manager to act as the central coordination point for a technically complex, interdisciplinary programme spanning protein design, membrane engineering and materials science.

The role involves coordinating activities across the full programme lifecycle, ensuring milestones, metrics, budgets and funder expectations are met, with broad operational support to the research group.

Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating multi-partner research programmes, grants, or projects in higher education or related research environments.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with ability to develop and maintain systems.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder relationships across boundaries.
  • Experience preparing regular progress and financial reports, meeting papers, and project documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Extensive IT skills including Microsoft 365 and digital project management tools.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise good judgement and take initiative in problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as central coordination point for the programme across its full lifecycle to ensure delivery against milestones, metrics, budgets, governance and funder expectations.
  • Coordinate activities across institutions and maintain clear communication with academic, industry and funder stakeholders.
  • Provide broader operational and administrative support to the research group as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain programme documentation, reports and meeting papers for internal and external audiences.
