NHS Jobs in Chelmsford is seeking an experienced Perinatal Mental Health clinician to work within the Perinatal Mental Health Service. You will collaborate with care coordinators to support pregnant women and infants up to one year old.

You will conduct mental health assessments, manage a defined caseload, apply the Care Programme Approach, and ensure comprehensive perinatal care planning including pre- and post-birth meetings.

Responsibilities

• Work with care coordinators from CMHTs on a small, complex caseload of pregnant women or infants up to one year.
• Conduct single-handed and joint mental health assessments to identify needs for referrals to the Perinatal Mental Health Service.
• Manage a defined client caseload in consultation with the Team Manager and Clinical Team Leader.
• Apply the Care Programme Approach (CPA) as defined in Trust policy and act as Care Co-ordinator when required.
• Ensure every perinatal service user has a care plan; attend and contribute to pre- and post-birth meetings.
• Effectively manage risks and prioritise interventions.
• Maintain individualised care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation with service users.
