Job summary

COOK is hiring a Cold Store Picker to join our logistics team. You will be responsible for accurately picking, packing and dispatching shop orders in a -18°C cold store environment, with PPE provided and full training given.

During December, hours may increase to 6 days per week, with potential 7 days. Rota is shared in advance; annual leave is restricted during peak period. Seasonal work continues into January 2027, offering valuable warehouse experience and team support.

Job description

Due to the nature of the products handled, you will be required to work in a -18°C cold store environment. Don't worry - high-quality thermal PPE will be provided to help keep you warm and protected while working. You should be comfortable working in a cold environment and following all health and safety procedures. Increased Hours During December December is our busiest period, so the working pattern will change to 6 days per week, with the possibility of working 7 days when required. This means you may be required to work one or two additional days each week, which would normally be your scheduled days off. Any additional working days will be allocated and communicated in advance, so you will know your rota ahead of time. Please note: Annual leave will not be permitted during December due to the seasonal demand. What You’ll Be Doing As a Cold Store Picker, you will play an important role in making sure customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time. Your responsibilities will include:

• Picking and packing shop orders accurately and efficiently.
• Handling products carefully and maintaining high standards of quality.
• Using warehouse equipment safely and following all relevant procedures.
• Supporting the movement of goods through the warehouse.
• Keeping stock records accurate using warehouse management systems.
• Carrying out quality checks before products are dispatched.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Working closely with colleagues to achieve daily targets.
• Completing required training and following health and safety procedures.

This is a great opportunity to earn throughout the busy Christmas period, gain valuable warehouse experience and become part of a supportive team. Full training will be provided, so previous warehouse experience is helpful but not essential. You don't need previous warehouse experience - full training will be provided.
