Job Description: Coffee Equipment Technician

Climpson & Sons are pioneers of the evolving London specialty coffee scene, supplying cafes, restaurants, and businesses across London, the UK, and Europe.

We are seeking an Equipment Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in specialty coffee and at least 1 year of technical support experience with coffee equipment.

A key objective for Climpson & Sons is to retain our customer base by providing exceptional support and service. The technician's role is to offer accessible, friendly technical support for all wholesale customers, balancing scheduled services with reactive repairs. The technician must communicate effectively across departments to address customer queries and emergencies efficiently, minimizing business impact.

This operational role is based at our East London Roastery and HQ, with on-site support for wholesale clients.

Key Requirements:

• Valid UK driver's license and willingness to drive a van around London
• Workweek includes weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and 1-3 weekdays

Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled maintenance, water filter changes, and installations with the Technical Administrator
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues
• Manage weekend shifts
• Proactively schedule services and care, including logistical arrangements
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance for major clients
• Manage maintenance schedules and stock parts
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries via email and phone
• Install and set up coffee machinery, including basic operator training
• Complete and file necessary paperwork
• Attend training courses and practical classes to enhance skills
• Lead maintenance workshops for customers under supervision
• Support administrative and logistical tasks as needed
• Drive the van to and from venues

Skills & Qualifications:

• At least two years of experience in a high-end specialty coffee environment
• Minimum 1 year of technical support experience with coffee equipment
• Proven knowledge of coffee machines, grinders, and water filtration systems
• Full UK driver's license
• Professional attitude and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Proficiency in Excel
