Job summary
OpenAI is seeking an Applied AI Engineer for Startups (Codex) in London. You will help developers transform how they build and ship software, combining hands-on engineering, startup experience, and strong technical communication to drive practical workflows.
You will lead technical talks, live demos, and workshops, engaging developers and founders across the startup ecosystem while delivering reusable tools and resources to extend impact and adoption.
Qualifications
- Experience building at startups or in startup-like environments.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to build practical AI applications.
- Active user of Codex or other AI coding tools with a practical perspective on improvements.
Responsibilities
- Partner with top startups to identify Codex impact on how they build and ship software.
- Design and lead technical talks, live demos, workshops, and hands-on programmes for sustained adoption.
- Work directly with selected customers to build Codex workflows, integrations, and automations; resolve blockers.
- Turn successful approaches into reusable code examples, guides, and tools for broader adoption.
- Collaborate with account teams and ecosystem partners to reach developers and founders and drive customer value.
- Translate customer experiences and developer feedback into actionable insights for OpenAI teams.
