Job summary

OpenAI's Applied AI Engineering team is seeking an Applied AI Engineer focused on Codex in London. You will partner with engineering organizations to design, build, and deploy AI systems that transform software development workflows, combining hands-on engineering with customer leadership.

You will collaborate across product, research, and security teams to ensure production readiness, reliability, and measurable productivity gains.

Qualifications

• Proven track record building and delivering software or AI systems in enterprise environments.
• Experience taking systems from prototype to production.
• Strong technical judgment and end-to-end ownership in ambiguous settings.
• Fluent English communication across audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered coding workflows and evaluation systems.
• Work hands-on to develop prototypes, evaluation harnesses, and production accelerators.
• Help customers translate experiments into reliable production workflows and measurable outcomes.
• Lead technical workshops and enablement sessions for engineering teams to adopt new workflows.
