Job summary

EVEREC is seeking a skilled Coded Welder / Fabricator to join their Burwell workshop near Cambridge. You will weld, fabricate and finish components from engineering drawings, following welding procedures and safety standards.

The role offers a £37,440–£52,000 basic salary, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm, with overtime; 22 days plus 8 bank holidays and your birthday off; permanent position with training and coding support for candidates aiming to achieve the coding.

Qualifications

• Strong practical welding and fabrication experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Experience with MIG/MAG welding and fabrication of structural components.
• Knowledge of fabrication tolerances and dimensional accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MIG/MAG welding and other specified welding processes.
• Fabricate structural and mechanical components from drawings.
• Interpret welding symbols, specifications and tolerances accurately.
• Prepare, fit, tack and weld components prior to final welding.
• Complete welding on structural assemblies and machined parts.
• Carry out grinding, dressing and finishing operations as required.
• Check dimensions, alignment and weld quality throughout fabrication.
• Identify and report defects or non-conforming materials.
