Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Wolverhampton is seeking a coded TIG welder with aluminium experience for a 6‑month contract, on day shift or 3‑shift pattern. You will support the fabrication of Battery Packs and other electrification components in a high‑volume production environment.

You must read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols, ensure weld integrity and quality, and prepare materials before welding. Overtime premiums apply for weekends; start date June 2026.

Qualifications

• Proven TIG welder with aluminium experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality TIG welding on aluminium components to drawings and specifications.
• Ensure weld integrity and adherence to quality standards.
• Prepare materials (cleaning, cutting, fitting) prior to welding.
• Conduct visual inspections and support NDT/quality checks.
• Rectify weld defects and implement corrective actions.
• Support production targets while maintaining safety and housekeeping.
• Assist with weekend and shutdown work and continuous improvement activities.

Job DescriptionPosition: Coded TIG Welder - Aluminium Shift Pattern: Day shift OR 3 Shift Location: Wolverhampton Duration: 6 Months, Long-term options for the right candidate Start Date: June 2026 Pay Rate: £35 - 40 per hour, 39 hours per week - £65k Salary equivalent on 3 Shift --Premium Overtime for Saturday and Sundays Pay Method: Umbrella PAYE Industry: Automotive (FMCG/Warehouse/Pharmaceutical experience also considered) You'll support the fabrication and assembly of Battery Packs, Electric Drive Units and other electrification technologies, working with lightweight aluminium components in a high-volume production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality TIG welding on aluminium components to engineering drawings and specifications.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a TIG Welder, with a strong focus on aluminium.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or high-volume production environment.
• Skilled in fabrication, joint preparation, and finishing of aluminium components.
• Strong understanding of welding parameters, heat control, and distortion management.

Desirable

• Coding(or proof of previously coded)/qualifications in TIG welding (e.g. ISO 9606)
