Job summary

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency in the United Kingdom is recruiting a Coastal Operations Area Commander. You will lead, manage and mentor a team of Officers and Volunteers, directing operations and resilience activities to protect lives at sea and on the coast.

This role requires exceptional line management, strategic decision-making and collaboration with Coastguard rescue staff, volunteers and partner services.

Responsibilities

• Lead, participate in or support assurance and investigation teams.
• Recruit, manage, train, coach and mentor full-time officers.
• Report to the Coastal Operations Divisional Commander and manage the Area budget.
• Lead, manage and supervise volunteers within the Coastal Operational Area.
• Identify, plan, resource and verify training needs for staff and volunteers within the Coastal Operational Area.
