Job summary

VolkerStevin is looking for a Site Engineer to join our team on a prestigious coastal defence scheme. You will lead setting out, surveying, QA, health and safety, and support junior engineers to ensure delivery on time and to high standards.

The role requires strong communication, accuracy, and the ability to manage subcontractors within a multidisciplinary environment. Opportunities for career development are available within VolkerWessels UK.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Approximately 5 years' experience delivering civil infrastructure projects.
• Working toward ICE Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
• Strong setting out and surveying capabilities.
• Knowledge of quality, health & safety and construction best practice.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Experience managing subcontractors and delivering sections of work.
• Proactive attitude and desire to develop their career.

Responsibilities

• Lead setting out and dimensional control activities.
• Ensure accurate surveying and maintenance of project control points.
• Support temporary works planning and implementation.
• Provide technical guidance to site teams and subcontractors.
• Produce and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Raise and manage RFIs, TQs and NCRs.
• Maintain records including as-built information and site diaries.
• Drive high standards of workmanship and compliance across your section of works.
• Champion a positive safety culture and support RAMS, risk assessments and permits.
• Support planning, monitor subcontractor performance and progress against programme.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers.
• Coordinate subcontractors and site activities.
• Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
