Job summary

Forward Assist Recruitment Ltd in Enfield is seeking an experienced Coachmaker to join its engineering team. You will carry out preventative maintenance and repairs on buses and commercial vehicles, read and interpret engineering drawings, and ensure work is safe, efficient and of high quality.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in body repair.
• Experience in coachbuilding or commercial vehicle body repair.
• Experience using engineering tools and workshop equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Good understanding of workshop health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on buses and commercial vehicles.
• Complete all types of vehicle body repairs.
• Undertake repairs, modifications and upgrades in line with DVSA, safety and engineering standards.
• Support fleet reliability through effective technical problem-solving.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, manuals and technical documentation.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Maintain accurate inspection reports and maintenance records.
• Work closely with workshop teams, supervisors and operational departments.
• Support improvements in vehicle reliability and workshop efficiency.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and apprentices when required.

COACHMAKER

Location: Enfield

Salary: £30,000–£40,000 per annum, plus overtime

Our client is looking for an experienced Coachmaker to join its engineering team in Enfield.

• Carry out preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on buses and commercial vehicles
