Job summary

Arriva Bangor is seeking a Qualified Coach Driver to operate the Bangor to Aberystwyth service. You will drive safely and professionally, perform safety checks and support customers throughout each journey.

You will hold a valid PCV Category D licence, Driver CPC, Tachocard and have good knowledge of tachographs and drivers' hours. This permanent role offers 38 hours per week on a 5-days-out-of-7 pattern and a rate of £15.80 per hour.

Qualifications

• A valid PCV Category D licence.
• A valid Driver CPC / Driver Qualification Card.
• Your own valid Tachocard.
• Good working knowledge of tachographs and drivers' hours regulations.
• Previous experience driving passenger vehicles, ideally buses or coaches.
• Strong commitment to safe and responsible driving.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work 38 hours per week, 5 days out of 7.
• Comfortable undertaking some manual lifting, including handling luggage.

Responsibilities

• Safely and professionally driving the Bangor to Aberystwyth route.
• Working 38 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, including weekends and bank holidays.
• Completing all required vehicle safety checks and reporting defects appropriately.
• Complying with road safety requirements, company procedures and transport legislation.
• Using Tachocard correctly and confidently, ensuring tachograph compliance.
• Providing a welcoming, professional, customer-focused service throughout each journey.
• Assisting customers with queries and supporting them during travel.
• Assisting with loading/unloading luggage and some manual lifting.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and professional vehicle environment.
• Collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operation of the service.
