Job summary

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Non-Specific Symptoms/Rapid Diagnostic Service. The post supports an expanding cancer pathway with advanced assessment and patient coordination.

The role is Band 7, full-time, based at Stepping Hill Hospital in Hazel Grove, requiring autonomous practice and strong communication within multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Post‑registration study and CPD.
• Degree level or equivalent education.
• Advanced clinical assessment knowledge or postgraduate study.
• Independent/non‑medical prescribing qualification.
• Postgraduate Masters level study.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate complex diagnostic pathways for NSS/Cancer pathway.
• Provide expert clinical assessment, information and support to patients.
• Ensure appropriate onward referral and pathway management.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams across diagnostic services, cancer teams and primary care.

Education

Registered Nurse with current NMC registration

Relevant post‑registration study and CPD

Educated to degree level or equivalent

Advanced clinical assessment qualification or postgraduate study

Independent/non-medical prescribing qualification
