Job summary

ion-tec Ltd in Sheffield is seeking an experienced CNC Turner who takes pride in precision work and aims to become a high-level machinist. You’ll machine complex components on modern DMG Mori turning centres, using titanium and nickel alloys to tight tolerances with self-inspection and setting responsibility.

This small-batch, high-precision environment offers exposure to advanced manufacturing techniques and the opportunity to work with experienced engineers developing strategies, with overtime

Qualifications

CNC turning experience with genuine setting responsibility.
Engineering apprenticeship and/or time-served machining background.
Experience working to tight tolerances and inspecting own work.
Confidence with tooling, tool changes and offsets.
Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern.
A strong learning attitude and drive to improve.

Responsibilities

Set machines, select tooling and manage offsets for complex parts.
Self-inspect finished work to ensure conformance to specs.
Work from controlled production information to manufacture high-precision components.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to develop machining strategies.
